Sunday, 19 November was Mitzvah Day and it was marked at Bromley by a visit from the Retired Greyhound Trust, who brought three of their beautiful retired greyhounds to meet the children of the Cheder. This was in acknowledgement of a generous donation from the children who had chosen the Trust to benefit from their 2017 Tzedakah collection.
During the morning the dogs were introduced to the children one class at a time and the children learned a lot about the nature of the greyhound breed, which goes back to ancient Egypt. The dogs are taken by the Trust when they retire from their racing careers and are well cared for before being passed to responsible owners.
