The Chanukah Party on 17 December was a very lively affair well attended by the Cheder children, their parents and grandparents. The event began with an hour’s entertainment by Gilbert Giggles, followed by the lighting of the big Menorah by the Rabbi at 5 pm and the lighting of indiuvidual menorahs at the tables. This was followed by a generous tea, including traditional latkes and doughnuts, to the accompaniment of Chanukah music played by Aimee, Esther and Vicki. The party ended with more entertainment from Gilbert Giggles, including dancing and prize giving. Many thanks to the parents’ association – Hooray Cheder – for ensuring the party’s success.
