From 2 October 2021 we plan to hold Shabbat morning services in the synagogue, although streaming will continue alongside in person services.  Attendance at our Shabbat services will be limited to 40 adult members in the sanctuary, plus those on duty in the various roles of service taker, security, warden and greeter-cum-social distance monitor.  After this capacity has been reached members will be asked to watch the service from Garden Room where is will be streamed.

We will give priority in the sanctuary to those commemorating a Yahrzeit and children and families with upcoming b’nei mitzvah.  We are taking a host of measures to ensure the safety and protection of all those involved, some of which may seem excessive and cumbersome.  In due course I would hope that we might be able to relax them to some extent.

We ask anyone coming into the synagogue building is doubly vaccinated (only over 18 year olds) and we recommend everyone to take a lateral flow test before coming in, ideally before breakfast on the day.  We will be asking for proof of vaccination but this will only need to be done once and shown at the door prior to entry.  Please use the link to the government website that offers instructions and explains how to obtain free kits:  https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

Mask wearing is optional in line with government regulations, and a personal choice.  However anyone on the bimah without a verbal role should wear a mask (not 11 year olds and under or those with an exemption).  This does not apply to service takers.  We ask everyone to be mindful of those who want to socially distance.

If you do not feel well or have any covid symptoms or test positive for covid DO NOT come to the synagogue and we ask you to remain at home and join the service online.
