1027 items donated to local food banks, over 100 holiday sweet and game packs for children whose parents rely on food banks or are refugees, 50 Chanukah cards lovingly crafted to spread a few smiles amongst elderly home-bound members. Bromley Reform Synagogue are topping the board of food collections amongst Reform communities.

Having already surpassed the 613 item goal by Mitzvah Day, we decided the entrance fee for the Chanukah Fair would be a item of food, this increased our donation to the 1000 item threshold, thanks to the generosity of guests and

members , many of whom came expressly to see its Chai School Klezmer Band who had rehearsed for many weeks. The Chanukah Fair raised much needed funds for the Synagogue.  Michelle Brooks Evans, Chair of our community said “Mitzvah Day this year really resonated with the joy of being together again in person and allowed us to be involved in social action and to make a difference.”  The Chanukah Fair was enjoyed by the whole community and thanks to Sonia Hyams who organised the day with her trusty volunteers there were bagels, doughnuts, craft stalls, and a whole load of Chanukah cheer.
