Bromley Reform Synagogue (BRS), a member of the Movement for Reform Judaism, is conveniently located to serve Jewish individuals and families across south east London and north west Kent.
Our lively and intimate community embraces not only Bromley but Beckenham, Orpington, Blackheath, Forest Hill, Dartford, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and even further afield.
It is made up of about 500 people of all ages and many different backgrounds.
- We hold services every Shabbat and for all Festivals and life events
- We have an active learning programme for all ages including a thriving cheder and a Gan (nursery) on Sunday morning
- Older people enjoy meeting at our social centre
- Social events organised centrally and by individuals with special interests
Everything we do is funded and managed by the members of the community. We are led by our Rabbi and an annually elected Board of members.
We have our own beautiful and unusual synagogue building which includes a reception hall and classrooms for our growing Cheder. Take a virtual tour.
The synagogue has a rich history and has served the community for more than 55 years since it was founded by a handful of local families in 1964.
Our History
Bromley Reform Synagogue has been established in the borough since 1964.
Since 1967 it has been in the present building, which was converted from a block of flats to a synagogue by members themselves, and has recently been extended and refurbished, again through the efforts of members.
Our modern facilities include good accessibility, a large kitchen, wifi and a well maintained garden.
