This year’s Chanukah Fair, held on Sunday 3 December, was a scene of bustling activity, which spilt over from the Garden Room into the downstairs foyer, the library and one of the classrooms. As well as bagels, tea and coffee and home-made cakes, greetings cards, Chanukah gifts, cookery and other books were on sale. There was a craft room, where children could express themselves, and there was a great display of children’s books provided by PJLibrary in the synagogue library. The raffle draw was followed with great interest and excitement to see who would win each of the wide selection of prizes. The whole was set against a background of soft Jewish music provided by a piano and string trio.
