Music plays an important part in all services, festivals, celebrations and other events as it has resonances and associations for everybody.

People remember and identify with tunes even if they don’t know or can’t read words.  It can be taken from many sources, from the most ancient melodies, through the formal 19^th century music that has become “traditional” to many, klezmer, modern Israeli music and the work of composers all over the world.

Many members – adults and children – are accomplished musicians, so we sometimes organise concerts and shows among ourselves just for the fun of it.   We enjoy visits from celebrated contemporary musicians.
