BRS were represented by Board members Michelle Brooks Evans, Marilyn Freeman, Sharon Solomon, Nigel Springer and Toby Allin at a special event run by the Board of Deputies at Bevis Marks Synagogue. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, was in conversation with writer and historian Simon Sebag Montefiore. The event was an opportunity to hear the Archbishop’s views on a wide range of issues relating to the Jewish community including Jewish-Christian relations, Israel, antisemitism, British society and more.
The event took place at the historic Bevis Marks Synagogue on Wednesday 5th July 2023. Bevis Marks is a wonderful site for this event considering the historic connection between the synagogue and the establishment of the Board of Deputies in 1760. The synagogue was packed for this fascinating conversation.
